Patients Receive Optimum Care at The Dental Care Group
Going
to the dentist used to be about teeth cleanings, filling cavities, pulling
wisdom teeth, possibly a root canal and learning if braces were in your future.
Not any more, as medical research is continually uncovering strong links between
the health of your mouth and the overall health of your entire body.
Modern medicine has shown that bacteria, infection and inflammation in
your mouth can lead to problems in the rest of your body. We now know
that there is a direct relationship between periodontal (gum) disease and
diabetes, heart disease, stroke, pancreatic cancer and even early term
pregnancy. Given these important findings, the dentists at The Dental Care Group are at the forefront of taking a holistic approach to treating their
patients.
Upon
first visiting The Dental Care Group, patients are asked to complete a detailed
medical history. Then, before any treatment is begun, each patient will
have their blood pressure taken. On multiple occasions, when extremely high
blood pressure has been detected, patients have been sent directly to their
physician's office or to the hospital to seek urgent care as their previous
undetected problem required immediate attention.
Next,
in addition to routine radiographs, a panoramic radiograph is
performed. Panoramic x-rays are very high tech and cover a broader
area than conventional intraoral x-rays and, as a result, provide valuable
information. They can reveal an existing issue or potential problems
such as advanced periodontal disease, oral cysts, tumors and oral cancer,
impacted teeth, TMJ and sinusitis.
Patients are
then offered the opportunity to take a simple OralDNA® salivary test.
This test analyzes a patient’s saliva to determine if there are elevated levels
of bacteria by identifying and analyzing 11 different types of
microbes related to periodontal disease. Patients with elevated bacteria
levels are prescribed customized hygiene procedures and antibiotics which
target the specific bacteria at issue, thereby eliminating a risk factor for
other medical problems.
A
six-step oral cancer screening is also conducted. Using this process, the
health professionals at The Dental Care Group have identified cases of oral
cancer at their earliest stages enabling patients to successfully treat their
disease. As part of their dental team, The Dental Care Group has a board
certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon on staff to develop a specific
treatment plan if oral cancer is present.
At
the end of the visit each patient is educated about the latest in dental stem
cell research. When teeth come out during normal dental care, the stem
cells inside can be saved for future potential medical or dental use. Patients
can opt to preserve stem cells from baby teeth, wisdom teeth or healthy teeth
extracted for orthodontic reasons.
The
doctors at The Dental Care Group plan for the immediate and long term health of
their patients. Dr. Mars, Dr. Glicksman or Dr. Coussa review all of the
above information with each patient and discuss their personalized road map to
achieving a healthy mouth, a healthy body and a beautiful, confident
smile. Through continuing education and the acquisition of the latest
technology, the doctors practice a holistic approach which provides total health
and wellness for their patients.

Real Estate: Reaching Out to China
As the real estate market is coming back up from the
recession we had a few years ago, realtors are making big plans. One of these
realtors is Aviva Eyal. Eyal is with the Keyes Company as a top international
realtor, and specializes in luxury real estate right here, in Florida. Thinking
outside the box, or more like outside the country, Eyal wants to branch out to
China, hoping to interest them with real estate opportunities in the sunshine
state.
Not only is Eyal a good realtor, but her international
background gives her a leg up on the competition. She has lived in various
places, including Taiwan, Israel, London and Germany. She has also studied at
Tel Aviv University in Israel, and Su Chow University in Taiwan. To add to the
list of international credentials, Eyal also knows how to speak Chinese,
Hebrew, and English. Eyal couldn't
have picked a better time to branch out and
further her opportunities and with her background in marketing and finance, the
Chinese will definitely acknowledge her.By: Makeda Farrell

The Future of Digital Media and You: How to Become an Indispensable Member of a Growing Community
Think of the most visually impressive film you’ve seen
recently. It is likely that you’re now imagining what it was like to see Tony
Stark’s Iron Man suit assemble on its own or perhaps what it felt like to see
Vin Diesel making those sharp turns around winding roads in Fast & Furious
6.
Summertime marks the season of movie blockbusters—so let’s
shine a spotlight on a college that breeds the creative, computer-savvy minds
behind our favorite flicks, as we take a look at Boca Raton’s very own Digital
Media Arts College.
The Digital Media Arts College, (DMAC), is responsible for
providing programs to those who are passionate in any or all forms of digital
media. With Hollywood being out of reach for many, the local campus is an ideal
stepping stone for anyone looking to make their mark in modern day advertising,
visual effects animation, web design, and beyond.
Have you ever stayed after the movie to watch the credits?
The list of necessary animators and designers goes on nearly as long as the
movie! And as the norms of media are becoming as advanced as they are, it seems
that the degrees offered by DMAC are as in high demand as ever.
Like any college, DMAC provides students with all the
necessary tools they need to have an ideal college experience. With active
financial aid programs, housing assistance, and student life, DMAC students are
encouraged to continue their education outside the classroom as they socialize
and build connections with fellow creative minds.
Not only does DMAC offer both undergraduate and graduate
degrees, and various certificates, they also provide students with
opportunities for further education post-graduation. DMAC keeps their doors
unlocked to alumni, so that they may return to campus to refresh skills that
are particular to their major at any point after graduation, free of charge.
And with technologies changing at the rapid pace that they do, such an offering
puts DMAC on another level in terms of career-oriented training.
Reach your creative potential at DMAC and maybe it will be
your name we see scrolling in the credits this next summer.
For more information on programs offered by DMAC and
enrollment information, visit their website.

Avanti Way Celebrates the Opening of a New Location!
Roll out the red carpet! Avanti Way threw an exclusive launch party to celebrate the grand opening of its new office at 444 Brickell Avenue, Miami. Guests were treated like royalty as they posed for pictures in front of the step and repeat, and mingled with agents and real estate professionals from across South Florida. Right in the heart of downtown Miami, the party took
place on the outside terrace underneath a blue lit tent highlighting Avanti
Way’s blue and white technology color scheme. A delicious spread of delicacies
satisfied party goers palates, while Frost Shot supplied liquor-flavored ice pops, keeping everyone cool amidst the South Florida heat.
This was not your average grand opening party; Avanti Way teamed up with Citizens for a Better South Florida who reminded us how simple it is to stay aware of our environment while living here in South Florida. Avanti Way presented a donation to Citizens for a Better South Florida and as the party came to a close guest were reminded to come stop by the new office and to always remember, "there's the wrong way, and then there's the Avanti Way."

EXPLORING YOUR PASSIONS AND GIVING BACK
Take a moment to determine what truly inspires you.
Now combine that with philanthropy. Giving back is about linking passion with action and it doesn't have to be complex. A big part of the legacy you leave is how it includes and impacts the next generation. What is better than investing in your own values, community, and society by giving time and money to the things you care about most?
Ascendant Planned Giving, Inc. works with individuals, families, charitable organizations, and small businesses helping them plan, assess and manage their charitable endeavors. Ascendant focuses on helping families and small businesses integrate philanthropy into their lives, while showing nonprofit organizations how to attract long-term support using planned giving programs. Ascendant seeks to increase the impact of philanthropy in society by working with donors to make their giving more strategic, effective and enjoyable; by developing creative, leveraged and useful philanthropic approaches to solving important social issues; and by inspiring more individuals, families, companies and organizations to become deeply involved in philanthropy.

HELP SAVE THE 31ST ANNUAL CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE!!!
The Mermaid Parade is the largest art parade in the nation (http://www.coneyisland.com/programs/mermaid-parade.) The parade is held in Coney Island every year in celebration of the beginning of the summer season. Individuals from all over the five boroughs gather for the ocean-themed event to showcase their artwork and express community prode. This year the 31st annaul Mermaid Parade is in limbo. In 2012 Hurricane Sandy devestated the area particually dealing damage to New Jersey and New York. Sand was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the season and the second-costliest in US history. The storm damaged much of the area destroying offices and local revenue sources that contribute to the parade and the community is in need of economic stimulation more than ever. Please visit the Kickstarter page to donate money to fund Coney Island USA and help save the Mermaid Parade. Coney Island USA is and IRS 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit arts organization (and a tax decutible charity).

Art Siegel Showcases 3D Art
Art work by internationally known artist, Art Siegel, is now open for public view in Boca Raton’s Museum of Art until July 14th. Not only are his works inspirational, they are also three - dimensional. Although Art has been getting a lot of attention in Boca Raton, his pieces hang in different homes varying from Montreal to South America.
Siegel’s 3D pieces focus on the background scenery, rather than the actual subjects. “Everything that appears on the screen must serve as credible context for the story,” Siegel says. Some of Art’s three dimensional works include titles such as Number 6 to Pelham Bay and 7th Avenue Local.
Making artwork is not the only limitation for Siegel; it has also enabled community involvement by working with charities. On Thursday May 23rd, two of Siegel’s pieces will be shown at Yaacov Heller’s Gallery 22 for a cocktail and cupcake reception benefitting The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF). The guests at the event will have a chance to meet him and learn more about his art work. Thanks to all of our sponsors: Tito’s Vodka, Mediterranean Specialty Products LLC, AllStar Cupcakes, and Caruso’s Ristorante.

SNO is 100% natural and unadulterated meaning it is untouched, unchanged and contains zero nitrates. If nitrates are one supplement you'd rather not find in your water, consider licking a 20,000-year-old Icelandic glacier for the ultimate pure water.
Doctors and nutritionist suggest that the average adult should consume at least 8 glasses of water on a daily bases or 2 x 1 liters of SNO. SNO comes from the 20,000-year-old famous Eyjafjallajokull Glacier where it is filtered naturally thru layers of volcanic rock, giving it the purity, natural balance and crisp refreshing taste that nature intended (http://iglacierwonders.com/). For your health and optimum body function drink SNO Iceland glacier water.

Athletes turning to ALCAT for personalized dieting
The ALCAT test or antigen leukocyte test is a leader in its respective field of food intolerance and sensitivity testing. Intolerance to food additives has been linked to a variety of health issues including digestive problems, migraines joint and skin problems, obesity and diabetes. The ALCAT measures your intolerance using a technology that measures how your white blood cells respond when exposed to different foods.
Athletes all over the world are constantly seeking ways to enhance performance. Eating healthy helps reach performanc
e targets and aides in wellness and recovery. The ALCAT test results serve as the basis for elimination diet treatment, which helps athletes avoid conditions considered to be the result of food intolerance such as obesity. The tests are gaining wider acceptance, especially among nutritionists who work with professional athletes. It is currently being used by several teams in the NFL and NBA.
"It's still amazing to see how athlete's bodies and energy levels respond when they find out what the proper diet is for their body," said Roger Deutsch, CEO of Cell Sciences Systems and creator of the ALCAT test. Studies have shown diet modification and food sensitivity testing to be practical treatment for a number of chronic health problems. Some of the well known athletes using the ALCAT include: Boston Red Sox' All-star David Ortiz, Minnesota Twins All-star Justin Morneau, Vancouver Canucks' David Booth, Los Angeles Lakers' Steve Nash, and World champion skier Christian Mayer.

Always Opportunities!
Our organization, TransMedia Group, is the one of the largest independent PR firms in South Florida and been in business since 1981. We are a full service public relations firm; www.transmediagroup.com headquartered in Boca Raton with offices world-wide.
Students that have been accepted for our internship program gain hands on experience and create contacts in the industry.
We offer students non-paid internships to assist in both our English and/or Hispanic department. Our schedule is flexible and students that take the opportunity on our internship program learn a vast array of “on the job” type training and learning. This includes, but not limited to, attending client meetings and taking notes, drafting and writing press releases, working with press; phone calls, emails, extensive research, creating pitches, brainstorming angles for different pitches and updating their resumes and portfolio as they will create paste ups of their placements. Also, attend any upcoming events if schedule permits.
On a daily basis, work is being done to ensure that they are learning from each task. When a student completes their internship, they leave with a feel for hands on experience by “out of classroom” career typesetting knowledge of the PR business. They also have the start of contacts they’ve created in the industry.
The internship program we have (recent College Graduates also welcome), is as important for the student as it is for our business. We do critique work and give them an overview of what/how they can improve as well as their strong points and what they might want to work on a bit.
Feel free to contact us, should you need additional information. We look forward to working with students and or recent graduates.
